Montana’s Camp Bighorn

Our first visit to Montana happened one month ago as we drove Emily and Gabe up to Bighorn Christian Camp where they will be working this summer. Yeah, it’s not an ugly place. I don’t feel too bad for them. But their work is hard, exhausting and physically intense. Kayaking, rock climbing, stand-up paddleboarding, leading younger camping kids (some of whom turn out to be quite unruly or simply so squirrely they just won’t listen).

We heard about this opportunity from a TCK who grew up in Mexico. He has returned here every summer for the past few and there are about a dozen other TCKs from Mexico who have also adopted this place as their preferred summer destination. Our kids were immediately adopted into this barefoot tribe and they sound as happy as little clams.

On the next post I’ll share pics from Glacier National Park. 🙂
